EKC2024

EKC 2024 brought together researchers, industry professionals, and policymakers from Korea and Europe to exchange perspectives on key developments in the maritime and ocean sectors.

The Marine & Ocean sessions focused on major themes shaping the industry, including maritime decarbonisation, digitalisation, autonomous shipping, and international regulatory frameworks. Discussions highlighted not only technological advancements but also their practical application in real-world maritime operations, with a growing emphasis on zero-emission strategies and sustainable solutions.

As outlined in the programme, a series of joint sessions were organised in collaboration with leading institutions and industry partners. Topics ranged from hydrogen and alternative marine fuels to advanced marine mobility, maritime safety in novel ship design, and ocean transformation. These sessions reflected the increasing need for interdisciplinary approaches and cross-sector collaboration in addressing complex challenges within the maritime domain.

Through these discussions, EKC 2024 provided a platform for sharing knowledge, strengthening networks, and exploring future directions for innovation in the marine and ocean industries.
